New Photo Album!
May 9th, 2006Yes, I know… It has once again been far too long since I posted anything… I really have no excuse other than being very busy… or lazy… or, something… :)
Anyway, I will try to do a more conprehensive update a little later on, but for right now, I just wanted to point out the new and updated photo album link…
After the last update to the site, I had originally went with a plugin called Lazyest Gallery which fit very well with my photo album philosophy… just upload the images to the right folder and Bam! you’re done… but the index page was a little funky, and I was never completely pleased with it…
So, yesterday, I stumbled upon a different plugin called fGallery… It’s not quite as simple as Lazyest Gallery (after you upload a folder of images you have to go into the settings to “add” it), but I like that you can optionally add a title and caption for each photo after uploading, and that is uses a very nifty JavaScript plugin called Lightbox to display the images…
‘course, now I see that there’s a new version of Lazyest Gallery out that used Lightbox as well… but I think, for now, I’m going to stick with this one…
I don’t have all the pictures added yet, but I’m working through them… One little “glitch” that I’ve noticed is that the images don’t launch with Lightbox until the page is fully loaded… which could be an issue with some of my larger albums…
Anywho, test it out if you feel like it and give me some feedback if you’re so inclined… :)

I like the new photo album, the light box thing is pretty cool, but how do you go from one picture to the next? (Perhaps I’m a little slow, but I couldn’t figure it out)
Other than that, I just want to see a picture of the bass you caught in dad’s pond, so put it up dude!

I’m a goober, found the next and prev buttons that hide in the upper corners. tricky, very tricky. You caught me not paying attention, but I got you figured out, yes I do buddy. I found your tricks and I used them myself.
(that probably sounded much funnier in my head then it did to read. Oh well, guess you had to be there)

Hi there, sorry for the intrusion, I was just looking in tecnorati for “Lazyest Gallery” and I found your site’s link, so… here I am.
I’m the mantainer of Lazyest Gallery project and I want just let you know that with the new series (0.9.*), the plugin no more need the index file, and it supports differents Lightbox wordpress plugin too…
So if you want to try it again let me know ^^

Will — I’ve been looking for a good Wordpress plug-in for photos to use on my family website and you’ve given me links here to two! Very cool. Thank you. I will check these out and let you know what I find.
